KYC is required for users who want to get REAP and/or JDB accounts.
Please note that KYC statuses can only be changed from the sandbox admin panel. You cannot change a KYC status via API call.
The user and admin panel KYC flow is as follows:
- User submits only one KYC, regardless of the account type they wish to get. REAP accounts can be opened using only a National ID, JDB accounts can be opened only if the user has submitted their passport and passport information.
- You see the PLATFORM KYC in the admin panel with the status "Requested"
- If the KYC is rejected, the rejection reason is included in the admin panel and the user must be able to see this reason and also be able to re-submit their KYC with the correct/updated information.
- A new PLATFORM KYC appears in the admin panel with the status "Requested"
- The originally submitted KYC will show with the status "Updated"
- When the PLATFORM KYC is approved, two additional KYCs are created automatically: REAP and JDB. The original statuses of these KYCs are also automatic.
- Possible automatic KYC statuses for REAP and JDB and their meaning:
- Approved - this means that the user is eligible to request the respective account (REAP and/or JDB). Please note that this status does not mean that the Account has been opened. The user must request an account opening for both REAP and JDB after they have the respective approved KYC. Also, in this section and Approved JDB KYC means only that they are eligible to request an account and that the preliminary overview of the KYC was completed. The KYC information is only checked by the bank when the Account Request is submitted.
- Ineligible - this status can only appear on JDB KYCs and means that the user selected "National ID" instead of "Passport" (if you provide them with both options)
- Ineligible country - this means that the user is from a country that is in the Forbidden list of the admin panel for REAP/JDB accounts.
- For REAP, you can move some of the countries from "Forbidden" to "Restricted" (NEVER move them to "Accepted") and this will make it possible for users from this country to apply. If the change is not saved successfully, then it means that that country cannot be moved from Forbidden.
- For JDB, you can only move the United States from "Forbidden" to "Accepted" (not to "Restricted").
- If the JDB KYC status is "Ineligible," you need to provide the user with a way to update their KYC and inform them that they need to submit their passport and relevant passport information. Please note that when the user resubmits their KYC for JDB, you only need to send a new JDB KYC request, not a PLATFORM and/or REAP KYC request.
- Possible automatic KYC statuses for REAP and JDB and their meaning:
- If the REAP and/or JDB KYCs are approved, the user can then submit the account requests for the respective accounts.
